I am an Assistant Professor of Veterinary Physiology at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in St. Kitts and an active contributor to the Conservation Medicine and Ecosystem Health Center. My lab, the Caribbean and Beyond Hooper Bat and EcoHealth Lab focuses on the ecophysiology, ecotoxicology, ecology, and life history of Chiroptera (bats) on Saint Kitts and Nevis. The lab's long-term research goals are to expand applied research to other wildlife species in the Caribbean as well as focusing on developing conservation strategies that will decrease the risk of zoonotic disease transmission between bats and other animals while increasing ecosystem services and economic benefits provided by bats. |
